Check whether your setup can stream reliably

Your camera resolution is only one part of stream quality. Chaturbate also needs a stable upload connection and a device capable of capturing and encoding the picture.

Measure upload capacity

Test the connection where you actually plan to broadcast. Upload speed matters because it determines how quickly your video can leave your device; a high download figure does not guarantee a usable upload connection.

Chaturbate's newer OBS guide suggests upload capacity of about 5 Mbps for 720p, 10 Mbps for 1080p, 16 Mbps for 1440p, and 30 Mbps for 4K. Treat these as planning figures, not promises that a stream will remain stable.

Leave room above the encoder bitrate for audio and normal connection variation. Repeated drops during a test matter even if the peak speed looks high.

Improve stability

Use Ethernet where practical. If using Wi-Fi, move closer to the router and reduce interference. Pause large uploads, cloud backups, and other bandwidth-heavy activity on the same network.

Choose the broadcasting method

The browser broadcaster offers a quicker setup: select your camera, microphone, and suitable quality. OBS requires more configuration but gives you control over scenes, overlays, and encoding.

If either method struggles, lower resolution or frame rate and test again. Choose the highest setting that stays reliable rather than the highest setting the camera advertises.
