Add and manage moderators in your Chaturbate room

A moderator helps manage room chat while you broadcast. Choose someone you trust to apply your boundaries consistently and communicate the rules you want them to enforce.

Appoint a moderator

Use the viewer's username controls or the room's moderator controls to add them. Chaturbate's guide describes appointment periods ranging from one day to six months, depending on the option selected.

Moderators appear with red usernames. Review the appointment duration rather than assuming the role stays active indefinitely.

Explain the role

Moderators can assist with chat management, including temporary silencing. Chaturbate's silence control lasts six hours.

Keep creator-only account and room decisions under your control. Do not assume a moderator has every banning or account-management power available to the broadcaster.

A moderator does not need your password, stream key, payout information, or verification documents. The role is assigned through Chaturbate's controls, not by sharing your account.

Review appointments

Remove or change the role when someone no longer helps in your room. Check your moderator list periodically, especially after a break or a change in your room's rules.
