How to Update the Lovense Cam Extension

Keeping the Lovense Cam Extension up to date gives you access to current features, compatibility changes and fixes.

This can also be an important troubleshooting step if a Lovense feature that previously worked suddenly stops behaving correctly.

Why should I update the Cam Extension?

Lovense regularly updates its camming software.

An outdated version can potentially cause problems with:

  • Webcam platform integrations
  • Toy connections
  • Interactive features
  • Video Feedback
  • New or updated Lovense functionality

Some Lovense features specifically require a recent version of the Cam Extension.

Check your current installation

Open your browser's extensions page.

In Chrome, you can enter:

chrome://extensions

in the address bar.

Find the Lovense Cam Extension and check that it's still installed and enabled.

Updating a manually installed version

Lovense's Cam Extension can be installed manually using an unpacked extension.

If Lovense provides a newer package, download the current version from Lovense and follow its current installation instructions.

Don't download unofficial copies of the extension from random third-party websites. There are enough moving parts in a camming setup without voluntarily adding mystery browser software to the collection.

Check your settings after updating

Once the extension has been updated:

  1. 1.Open the Lovense Cam Extension.
  2. 2.Check Toy Status.
  3. 3.Confirm your webcam platforms are still configured.
  4. 4.Review your Basic Levels.
  5. 5.Check any Special Commands or interactive apps you use.
  6. 6.Send a test tip.

If you use OBS, SplitCam or another video-feedback setup, also check that the connection still works correctly before starting your next show.

What if Lovense stops working after an update?

First determine which part has stopped working.

If your toy doesn't connect at all, start with Toy Status.

If the toy connects but doesn't respond to tips, check your Basic Levels and cam-site configuration.

If the toy responds but your overlay doesn't appear, check Video Feedback and your streaming software instead.

Separating the problem this way is considerably faster than uninstalling everything and hoping the technological gods accept your sacrifice.
