How to Control Who Can Chat on Stripchat

Stripchat lets you control which viewers are allowed to send messages in your public room.

This can be useful if your chat is being overwhelmed by spam or unwanted messages.

How to restrict your public chat

Go to:

Broadcasting > My Show Controls > Who can chat

From there, you can choose which types of users are allowed to participate.

Stripchat provides options including restricting chat to:

  • Registered users with verified email addresses
  • Users who have purchased tokens or subscriptions

Restricting your chat can reduce unwanted messages, but it may also reduce overall activity in your room.

Can I hide messages from Grey users?

Yes.

Open your Chat settings and enable Hide Grey users' messages.

Their messages will then be hidden from you, although other users in the room can still see them.

If you change your Who can chat setting so only users who have purchased tokens can participate, Stripchat automatically disables the separate Hide Grey users' messages setting.

Should I restrict everyone because of one disruptive viewer?

Usually, you don't need to restrict your entire room because of one person.

If a specific viewer is causing problems, you can mute or ban that individual instead while leaving chat available to everyone else.
