How Do Stripchat Categories Work?
Stripchat uses categories to help viewers discover models and broadcasts they're interested in.
Some categories are assigned automatically using your account information, while others depend on your profile, broadcast settings, equipment, activities or approval from Stripchat. To control your automatic categories, see how to hide your country and age and how to choose languages on your profile.
Country, age and language categories
Some categories are based on information associated with your account.
Your country is determined using the country that issued your identity documents.
Your age can also be used to place you within an age category.
Stripchat allows you to disable your country and age categories through the relevant settings if you don't want them displayed.
You can also select up to three languages you speak. Stripchat recommends only choosing languages you're genuinely able to communicate in.
New Models category
New models can appear in the New Models category during their promotional period.
The promotion lasts for up to 30 days or 80 streaming hours, whichever limit is reached first.
Profile categories
Some categories are based on information you add to your profile, such as:
- Body type
- Hair
- Interests
Keeping your profile information accurate helps Stripchat categorize your account appropriately.
Broadcast activity categories
The activities you select for your broadcasts can also affect where your room appears.
Choose activities that genuinely match what viewers can expect from your show.
Device and feature categories
Stripchat can also categorize streams based on how you're broadcasting or which features you're using.
Examples include Streaming via Phone and broadcasts using an interactive toy.
Private Show categories
Your Private Show pricing and performance can affect your appearance in Private-related categories.
Stripchat also has a Best for Privates category. Your Private Show rating becomes visible after at least 10 qualifying ratings, and models with a rating between 4 and 5 may qualify for Best for Privates based on ratings from the previous six months.
For a viewer's rating to count, they must have spent at least two minutes in a Private Show with you.
Special categories
Stripchat also offers special categories that require approval.
These can include themed or seasonal categories as well as categories such as BDSM and VTubers.
You can apply for eligible categories through:
Broadcasting > My Details > Stream Specifics
For categories requiring verification, Stripchat may ask you to upload a sample video showing that your intended broadcast genuinely matches the category.
Once approved, select the relevant Stream Specific when you're actually broadcasting that type of show.
Don't select an approved special category when your broadcast doesn't match it, as Stripchat requires the public performance to reflect the category you've chosen.
