Secure the computer you use for CAM4
Your broadcasting computer can hold account access, private documents, and payment information. Keep it protected even when the live stream itself appears to work normally.
Maintain the device
Use supported operating-system and browser versions, install security updates, and keep the device's firewall and security protection active.
For everyday work, use an account with the permissions you need rather than routinely granting administrator access to every program. Install broadcasting tools from their official publishers and review prompts before approving changes.
A paid security suite is not automatically required simply because an older help article recommends one. Use suitable, maintained protection and avoid installing several conflicting products solely to follow a legacy list.
Protect the network and files
Secure your Wi-Fi with the router's supported strong encryption and a unique access password. Ask the provider or check the router's current instructions if you are unsure how to configure it.
Do not open a viewer's unexpected executable or download an attachment just because its filename resembles a photo or video. Familiar-looking links can still lead to credential theft or malware.
If you suspect compromise, stop using the affected setup for sensitive account actions until you have addressed the problem. A working camera does not establish that the computer is safe.
