How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication on Stripchat
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Stripchat account. If Stripchat detects a suspicious login attempt, you'll need to enter a temporary security code from Google Authenticator in addition to your password.
This means that even if someone gets hold of your password, they won't be able to access your account without your authentication code.
How to enable 2FA on Stripchat
- 1.Log in to Stripchat and open Settings and Privacy.
- 2.Find Two-Factor Authentication, located below My Password.
- 3.Switch Two-Factor Authentication on.
- 4.Enter your Stripchat password when prompted.
- 5.Stripchat will display a QR code and a setup key.
- 6.Download and open Google Authenticator on your phone if you don't already have it.
- 7.Add your Stripchat account to Google Authenticator using one of the methods below.
If Stripchat is open on your computer
Choose the option in Google Authenticator to scan a QR code, then scan the QR code displayed by Stripchat.
Google Authenticator will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code on Stripchat and select Enable Auth.
If Stripchat is open on your phone
If you can't scan the QR code because Stripchat and Google Authenticator are on the same device, use the setup key displayed next to the QR code instead.
Add an account manually in Google Authenticator and enter the key provided by Stripchat.
Google Authenticator will then generate a 6-digit code. Enter this on Stripchat and select Enable Auth.
Your two-factor authentication is now enabled.
What happens when I log in?
If Stripchat requires two-factor authentication during a login, you'll see a message asking for your authentication code.
Open Google Authenticator and enter the 6-digit code shown for Stripchat. These codes change approximately every 30 seconds, so always use the current code.
What happens if I enter the wrong code?
Stripchat limits the number of incorrect authentication attempts.
If you enter an incorrect code more than 10 times, Stripchat will temporarily block the account for 30 minutes before you can try again.
What if I lose access to Google Authenticator?
If you lose your phone or can no longer access the Google Authenticator codes linked to your Stripchat account, you may be unable to complete a login that requires two-factor authentication.
If you're still logged in to Stripchat on another device, don't log out until you've resolved the issue.
If you can't access your account, contact Stripchat Support from the email address registered to your account and explain that you've lost access to your two-factor authentication codes. Stripchat may need to verify your identity before helping you regain access.
