What earnings records should an IWantClips creator keep?
Keep both transaction reports and payout records. They answer different questions: transaction records show platform activity, while payout records help track transfers out of the account.
Save dated exports for each reporting period, along with records of relevant adjustments and the amounts actually received. Keep a separate record of your own business expenses rather than adding them to the platform's original export.
Check your taxpayer information
US creators may need to provide a completed W-9 and accurate taxpayer details through the platform's account process. A public stage name does not replace the legal identity and tax information requested there.
For a business recipient or a non-US account, follow the documentation requested for that account. Do not submit someone else's tax details simply because they help manage the store.
Do not rely on an old universal threshold
Older IWantClips guidance refers to a $600 reporting threshold and a particular US form. That should not be repeated as a rule covering every payment and tax year.
IRS reporting thresholds differ by payment type and form, and some changed for payments after December 31, 2025. Check the applicable year's official guidance and the actual form issued rather than assuming every creator receives the same document.
A form-reporting threshold is not a general exemption from tax. For filing questions, use the relevant tax authority's guidance or a qualified adviser.
Reconcile discrepancies
Compare the reporting period, gross activity, adjustments, and payouts before concluding that a document is wrong. Ask the platform about an unexplained difference and keep any correction with the original records.
