What Is the Difference Between DirectCam and DirectIM?

DirectCam provides live webcam sessions with chat and optional audio. DirectIM is timed text-only chat without your video broadcast.

Shared setup

Enable the relevant service, choose room modes and rates, set a category and strapline, then use the broadcaster. DirectIM uses its chat-only setting.

Group Mode can include multiple paying members. Private is intended for one-to-one interaction. Free Preview is an introductory mode with separate content restrictions.

Billing and fees

AdultWork bills the session automatically according to your rate and duration and records credits at the end. Its combined guidance lists a 10% facility fee; check the fee shown for the actual service and transaction.

At three credits per minute, a two-minute, 45-second session is 8.25 credits before fees.

Direct Messenger is a different product charged per message, not another name for timed DirectIM. Do not apply one service's price or facility fee to the other.
